Founded in 2000, the Coasts, Oceans, Ports, and Rivers Institute was formed in affiliation with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). As an institute of ASCE, COPRI focuses specifically on civil engineering specialties by centering on technical, educational, scientific and professional issues unique to coastal, ocean, ports, waterways, wetlands, and riverine environments.
