Founded in 1960, American Mensa is “The High IQ Society.” There is only one qualification for membership: a score in the top 2% of the population on a standardized intelligence test. Members pay $59 in annual dues to belong to an organization that provides intelligent individuals an opportunity to meet other smart people at the local, regional, and national levels. Mensa members also work to help others in their communities by providing scholar-ships and volunteering for community-oriented activities - - making them excellent prospects for a wide range of fundraising offers.
Mensa members are primarily college educated, live in urban areas, 68% male - 32% female (selectable), 43% between the ages of 44 to 61, and hold influential occupations. Members also have a wide variety of interests including the arts, language, science, literature, etc.
